The one thing Rachel really wanted for her engagement session with Colby was to do the photos in a field of sunflowers. I to try and accommodate requests however I can, but sometimes the weather or time of year or even the climate we’re in doesn’t work out. Lucky for us, there’s a venue nearby called Prospect Farms that grows sunflowers in the summer and fall specifically for photo shoots! We found a date they had open and the timing worked out perfectly for a Georgia summer engagement session.

If you’ve ever spent any time in north Georgia during the summer, then you know the air is made out of hot soup. It was definitely a hot and humid day at the end of July when we got together for Rachel & Colby’s engagement session, but that didn’t slow them down at all!
These two could not have been more awesome and up for getting right in the middle of those sunflowers!
Even with some southern humidity, the weather ended up being perfect. I could have stayed out there all day with these two!

On top of the beautiful sunflowers, Prospect Farms has some other great set ups that we were able to use.

A rope swing for two and some beautiful trees? Heck yes.

A wall of perfectly stacked logs? Also, heck yes.

Oh and did I mention the vintage pickup truck?

Now Colby also had a request for the engagement session. He wanted to get a few photos of the two of them with his red Jeep. We went down the road to a nearby park to make it happen.

I’m all for including the things that matter to you in your engagement session – plus this is an excellent looking Jeep.

The field right next to us ended up being the perfect spot to finish things up.

I had such a great time at Rachel & Colby’s summer engagement session in north Georgia. I’ll be sharing some of my favorites from their fall wedding coming up soon so be sure to check back!
